AIRCRAFT PRODUCTION
BIG EFFORT IN AMERICA WASHINGTON, Dec. 14. A report that is being prepared for President Roosevelt by his closest advisers, will urge that a major effort be made to increase aircraft; production. -A bomber output of 5000 machines a month will be sought as quickly as possible. The authorities are now convinced of the power of aircraft as a striking force in sea warfare, and technicians will be set the task of increasing the range both of bombers and fighters in order .to diminish the necessity of close-in bases in the furthest Pacific from which to launch the strongest offensive against Japanese island bases and the navy.
