A TIME FOR UNITY
LABOURERS 1 RESOLUTION The last meeting of the Otago Labourers' Union unanimously- approved a revision of the joint declaration of the National Executives of the Labour Party, and the Federation of Labour. The revised statement, which has been sent to the national secretaries of, both bodies, eliminated the attack upon the Communist Party of New Zealand and inserted the following paragraph calling for the unity of the people:— " In order that the effort of New Zealand in the struggle against Hitlerism can be increased to the maximum, it is essential that the utmost unity of the people be achieved. A pre-requisite of the people's unity is unity of the Labour movement, and we, therefore, call upon all sections of the Labour movement to unite for the major task of overthrowing Hitlerism and preserving democracy."
