FATAL INJURIES
CRUSHED BETWEEN SHIPS WELL-KNOWN MASTER MARINER (P.A.) - CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 5. In the course of boarding a ship at Lyttelton Heads, Lieutenant R. Pearion, a Well-known master mariner on ths New Zealand coast, lost his life. Official information is not yet available, but it Is stated that while Lieutenant Pearson was transferring from a naval; patrol vessel to the ship he was crushed between the two vessels. Lieutenant Pearson was bom in England about 58 years ago. He came to New Zealand in 1912 as chief officer on the Opouri. Sis? months after his arrival he was appointed master of the vessel, later transferring to the Orepuki. Later still he transferred to the Anchor Company, and during the period he served with that company he commanded several vessels.
