Applicants, preferably between 25, and 45 years of age and not eligible for military service, should be of sound physique and good educational attainments. Experience in social work amongst boys; the holding of a University degree, a diploma, or teacher's certificate: are additional qualifications. Duties include investigation of cases of children and youths coming before the Courts; placement of boys in situations and their subsequent supervision. •'The appointee must have organising ability and be prepared to undertake social constructive work amongst youth in the community. Further study of social welfare literature and special legislation necessary to qualify for promotion. Commencing salary will be within a range from £255 to £335 per annum, according, to qualifications and experience. (b) HOUSEMASTER of a small institution (in any one of the four main centres), which provides for the temporary care and training of boys from eight years of age upwards. Applicants, preferably single men from 25 to 45 years of age and not eligible for military service, should possess a good general education. Previous experience in the control of young boys, experience of social work among boys and organising and control of games are desirabl" qualifications. The appointee, whose duties consist of the general training of the inmates and supervision of their recreation and school studies, is required to live in and to perform extra supervision duties, in view of which the sum of £3O only will be deducted for board and quarters. Salary up to £295 per annum, according to qualifications and experience. Cost-of-living bonus, now £l3 per annum, payable in both instances.
