T. AND G. BUILDING

APPLICATION TO COUNCIL ERECTION OF GROUND FLOOR The proposed erection of a new building for the T. and G. Mutual Life Society will again be brought before the City Council at its fortnightly meeting on Monday night, when a report will be presented by' the Works Committee on the question. The committee will recommend that an application has been received from the contractors for the erection of the new T. and G. Mutual Life Society's premises for a permit to dismantle the present old building and to proceed with the foundations and ground-floor shops as shown on the plan, with the proviso that when that particular section of the work is nearing completion a further application be made for a permit to continue the building. A previous application to proceed with the erection of the complete building was declined by the Building Controller. The present application has been approved and forwarded to the Building Controller for approvalof the issue of a building permit.
