Mrs F. E. Shrimpton returned yesterday after a visit of some weeks to Alexandra. , Mrs E. Neill, of Auckland, is visiting her mother, Mrs ,W., Stevenson, of "Cranmore," Nevada. Miss June Robertson, of Christchurch, is paying a short visit to Duneain. Mrs H. Hart and Miss Dorothy Hart will leave on Monday on a visit to Ghristchurch. .Mrs J. C. Carver will leave to-day for Auckland, where she will in future reside. Mrs A. O. Glasse, of Remuera, Auckland, has returned home after spending several weeks with her sister, Mrs S. R. Medder, of St. Kilda. The Knitting Circle of the Columba Old Girls' Association will hold its final meeting for the year in the National Party rooms next Thursday night. Lady Ferguson entertained the chairwomen and secretaries of the circles of the Otago Women's Club on Thursday afternoon at the Savoy. 1 The last meeting for the year of the Nelson College Old Girls' Association was held on Thursday night at the home of Mrs D. A military wedding was celebrated in Huntly Presbyterian Church recently, when Lieutenant George Edgar, New Zealand Dental Corps; eldest son of Mr and Mrs G. T; Edgar, of Dunedin. was married; to Miss Nancy Furniss, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. H. Furniss, of Ruawaro, Huntly. The Central Mission build marked the close of the season with <: a; social gathering. Special guests welcomed were the matron and sister Bailey, of the health camp. The choir rendered the opening number, arid then, a programme of competitions and solos was given by'Mrs Clarkson, Mrs White, and Sister Bailey. After afternoon tea, floral tributes were presented Mrs 'Johnson, Mrs Williams. Miss McNeish, and Miss - Sinclair, and a dainty torian posy was given to jeach of the 50 members present, for which thanks are due to Mrs Clyde.

On Saturday last the members of the Auckland Club paid a surprise visit to the home of and Mrs J. Sintpn, the occasion being a kitchen evening for Miss Marjory Cummings prior s to her marriage. Progressive trump whist and novel competitions were much enjoyed, and t>rizes were presented to the Patrick, Mrs Griffin, and Mr J. Wyllie.
