The Dunedin Gardening Club held its final meetings of the year on Tuesday night, Mr 1). Tannock presiding. For the competitions for. cut flowers, 11 entries were received, and the following were the results:— F « H. Hollingworth Memorial trophyr-Mrs A. S. Glenn, 33 points, 1; P Nelson, 30, 2; Miss Menzies, 29 3; Mrs W. J. Adamson, 26, 4. Mrs J. Rodger's Trophy—Mrs J. S. Menzies, 33 points, 1; Miss Hutton. 30. 2xl Mrs M: W. Lackie, 24, 3. » ! -Bowl of roses—Mrs M.:W- Leckie 1. Miss Hutton 2.
:;'-Vase of roses—W. Blackburn 1. '?' There; were for exhibition only many excellent , cut flowers, chief among these being a table . of blooms exhibited by Miiss Ruby Anderson. Other prominent:exhibits<were: Iceland poppies. Mt J.' 1 Passmore; decorated vase of flowers. Mrs McGregor; pansieg, ;Mrs J, S. Menzies; collection of alpines in flower. Mrs- W. Payne; collection early vegetables. Mr W. Blackburn Messrs J! Roy and E. A. Hamel were the judges. MrL. Lannle, of the staff of the BQtanic Gardens, spoke on the pruning of 'trees and shrubs, and with specimens qf a, number of them, illustrated his remarks. .-Solos were sung■ by Miss Kitchen, assisted by Miss Hudson, and subsequently'a social hour was spent. Votes of-..thanks were passed to all those who assisted..... -
