The worlds longest telephono line,, the carrier system covering the entire breadth of the Soviet Union, was among the first recipients of British suppjtes for Russia. The system stretches for 6001 miles from Moscow across Siberia to Khabarowsk, just , north of Vladivostok. Several conversations can be carried over it on the: one line, a great economy for long distances. Maintenance eauipment is now on its-way from the British telephone engineers who were given the original contract.
