PALMERSTON STOCK SALE

There was a yarding of approximately 1200 sheep at the Palmerston sale, held yesterday, and also a full yarding of cattle. Values generally were much on a par with recent auctions, and the abundance of feed in all districts resulted in the stock being well forward, so that a satisfactory sale resulted. Quotations were as follows:—Fat ewes, 24s 6d; fat two-tooth wethers, 21s 6d; twotooth halfbred ewes. 20s 9d to 225; good two-tooth halfbred wethers, 17s 4d; wether hoggets, to 20s; Romney-cross soundmouthed ewes and lambs, 16s to 17s; full and failing-mouthed ewes. 14s to 14s 2d; halfbred ewes and lambs, to 12s; yearling steers and heifers, £4 15s; fat heifers, to £9 17s 6d; fat cows, to £9; yearling heifers, to £lO 15s; dairy cows, ,£6 to £B.
