NATIONAL SAVINGS
♦ GROWING RESPONSE TO APPEAL (Special) WELLINGTON, Nov. 27. The people of the Dominion are responding to the call for national savings, and the number of towns attaining their weekly quota of savings is Increasing. Last week 102 towns flew their flags. The previous best week was 30 towns. The champion towns—those which have flown their flags for six weeks in succession—are as follows:—New Plymouth, Hawera, Ashburton, Hawarden, Kaikoura, Fairlie, Hunterville, Mayfield, Taihape, Te Anga, Urenul and Weber.
