COMMITTEES’ ASSOCIATION Mr G. T. Anderson presided at the executive meeting of the Schools Committees’ Association of Otago. Mr Anderson. Mr H. Bunn and Mr W. P. Birchall were appointed a subcommittee to co-operate with the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association regarding the provision of instructional swimn)in<* pools in schools. The Education Board advised that provision had been made in the curriculum for the teaching of first aid in schools and that the subject was compulsory in the Training College, It was noted that inspectors’ reports will now be supplied biennially to school committees, instead of each year as in the past. The quarterly meeting of the association will be held on Thursday December 11, when Mr G D. Clyde, the representative of the association at the Dominion conference, will give a report of the proceedings.
