Savage, designer ofrthe'fßbulder and Grand Coulee dam» r authority ■on this classiTOf Mr Savage, who is the'-chief-design-ing engineer to the United States Bureau of Reclamation, is passing through Auckland on his way to advise upon public water storage projects in Australia, and he will later go on to India for consultations about a major water conservation scheme there. /.{ ;Ti' " \'-l
"There are no more 'super iprojects' like Boulder and Grand Coulee in sight in America at present," he said, " but many smaller works are going on all the time, and it is impossible to see the end of water conservation work on American rivers or the rivers of the world." While in Australia Dr Savage will advise upon a scheme for. augmenting the water supply of'Melbourne and upon a hydro-electric project I 'for the State Electricity Commission in Victoria. '•
