Lieutenant - colonel F. ik •- Hunt, N.Z.S.C., of Wellington, wfio went overseas as brigade major to the 4th. Brigade, has returned for special services in New Zealand.
At the monthly meeting of the Otago Acclimatisation Society last night Mr L. Miller was appointed secretary, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr R, Hanning. Mr Miller will commence his duties this week. Mr W. J. Lovell, a member of the St. Kilda Borough Council, is at present a patient m the Dunedm Hospital. He was granted a month’s leave of absence from the council at a meeting last night. Mr N. D. Anderson, Mayor of St. Kilda. and Mr J., V. Trezisc, xown clerk,, were appointed at a council meeting last night to represent the borough at the annual conference of* the New Zealand Municipal Associa-tion,-to be held at Nelson in March;
