It was decided to continue Miss Violet for the 1942 season Posies of spring flowers were presented to Mrs Tonkin and Mrs C Topham. at whose home the meeting was held. , • RatanuL—Mrs Rbdgers presided. Roll Call: "General knowledge question. Competition: "Something made from scraps of print"—Mrs Sheed and, Mrs Allan.(equal). Miss Falconer and Mrs Craigie were hostesses. Ettrick.—Mrs C. P. Hainsworth presided. 'Each.-member brought a gift for the .Lepers at Makogai. A debate. "Does radio improve the cultural side of life?"; was-presented by Mesdames Boraman and Gibson (negative). Mesdames C. P. Hainsworth and Stronach (affirmative). A parcel of clothing for the LadyGaiway Guild is to be forwarded during October. Hostesses: Mesdames Reichel and Leslie. Otakou.—Mrs Harwood presided. Roll call: "A blanket washing or spring cleaning hint." Competitions: Thrift article—Mrs M. Harwood 1. Miss L. Harwood 2, Mrs Watson and Mrs Montgomery (equal) 3; polyanthus—Mrs H. Harwood 1. Mrs T. Harwood 2; narcissi—Miss B. Harwood 1. Mrs Karetai 2. Miss L. Burns 3. Juniors: Narcissi, Miss C. Harper; thrift article. Miss J. Watson. A parcel was packed for sending overseas. Wool was given out for soldiers' knitting. Hostesses: Mesdames. Watson and Montgomery West Taieri.—Mrs D. Reid presided. Members brought old fashion magazines and fancy work. Mrs A. J. Stewart and Mrs A. Grant gave short talks on " Fashions of Early Days. The members of the Farmers' Union and Young Farmers' Club were entertained at supper. Henley—Mrs Wilson presided. it was decided to send goods to assist the lepers. Competition: Sponge cake. Mrs Hollands. Menu came. Mrs Beccard. Edna Munro Middlemarch. - Eleventh birthday party. Mrs Annan (provincial president) was present, also members of the Hyde branch of the division. Sutton and Middlemarch Institutes, and members of the Middlemarch Farmers Union. Mrs Annan presented floral sprays to the mothers of boys overseas, and spravs were presented to Mrs Annan. Mrs Wendelkin. and Mrs Leatham. Musical items were given bv Mrs Ramsay, of Hyde. Miss Terry. Miss Arnott and Mrs Murray Robertson, and humorous recitations were given by Mrs Gillespie and Miss Isla Kidd.. Mrs Wendelkin. provincial secretary gave a demonstration of hand spinning. Mrs Anr.an eave a talk on division activities and asked that the branches should contribute woollen comforts for the Mercantile Service. Hostesses: Mesdames A. D. McKinnon. M. A. Matheson. A. Robertson. Moncur and W. Moynihan.
