DELIVERIES TO BRITAIN A STEADY INCREASE WASHINGTON, (Rec. 10.30 p.m.) Oct. 7. The Aeronautical Chamber of Commerce announced that during the flrsi seven months of 1941 the United Statedelivered to British forces throughout the world aircraft and equipment valued at over 284,000.000 dollars, the bulk of which was paid for in cash and small proportion was covered by Lend and Lease. He said he was unable to give figures, but they had sent Britain nearly twic; as many combat planes as the British lost defending the British Isles durins the entire year of 1940, and for every trainer sent to Britain three combat planes had been delivered. He said that hundreds of combat planes had been sent to England, Africa, and Singapore, and many had been sent to China and Batavia at the request of the British. There were usually several hundred planes awaiting shipment, and deliveries were, steadily increasing.
