LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
TWO BILLS PASSED (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Sept. 26. The Fair Rents Amendment Bill and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Bill were passed by the Legislative Council to-day. The Standards Bill was read a first time, and the Manukau County Council Empowering Bill was read a second time. The Wellington Free Ambulance Bill was referred back to the Local Bills Committee, as the. Order of St. John desires to give evidence on it.
