JAPANESE IN INDO-CHINA THAILAND FRONTIERS CLOSED (Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 23. Thailand is but a single step from being involved in war. The Bangkok radio announced to-day that newspapers regard as 'ominous the news that Japanese forces occupying Indo-China are about to hold large-scale manoeuvres on the Cambodia plains. Under the new regulations, Thailand has closed three more frontier districts to foreigners. The Tokio newspaper Nichi Nichi says that Thailand must sooner or later side with the Axis or its opponents. The paper quotes a Bangkok report that. 30,000 British troops, with mechanised equipment, are concentrated on the Malaya-Thai border.
