TO DRIVE THE FIRST NEW ZEALAND-BUIET MINESWEEPERS.—These propellers were made by Messrs John McGregor and Co., Dunedin, for the minesweepers Hinau and Rimu, which were recently launched at Auckland. The propellers are nine feet in diameter and weigh three tons apiece. An idea of their size is given by comparison with the other two propellers. The larger one is for a fishing launch of 50 to 60 horsepower and the smaller one is for a pleasure launch of 14 to 16 horsepower. The minesweepers will develop about 500 horsepower.
