ALBION-Y.M.C.A. CLUB LOSSES IN LOGAN PARK FIRE The annual meeting of the AlbionY.M.C.A. Cricket Club was held last night. The president (Mr F. N. Binncy) was in the .chair. The president of the New Zealand Cricket Council (Mr A. H, Allen) said he had come to the meeting for the purpose '.of expressing, on behalf of the New Zealand Council, and cricketers throughout the Dominion, sincere sympathy with the club in its recent loss. Mr Allen went on to explain the benefits which cricketers and clubs could reap if the capital of the endowment fund reached the proposed sum of £2OOO. The fund now stood at £862. He also congratulated the club on its record in the past season, and said he hoped that the difficulties facing it would soon be overcome. Loss of Equipment Speaking on the loss suffered by the club in the Logan Park fire, the president of the club said that a considerable amount of sympathy had been extended in a most practical way. Supporters and friends had contributed generously to the fund for the rehabilitation of the club. Six bats were all that had been saved from the fire, he said, but apart from the serious loss of material, all the club records and such other equipment as culinary articles and lockers had been desti’oyed. Mr Binney added that apart from the generosity of individual donors, the Dunedin Club’s donation of £3 was a particularly fine gesture. The annual report and balance sheet were adopted. Election of Officers The following officers were elected: —Patron, Sir James Allen; president, Mr F N Binney: 34 vice-presidents: secretary, Mr F. Breese; treasurer, Mr C J. Darracott; club captain, Mr H. Vorralh; deputy club captain, Mr F. Estrick; auditors, Messrs H. J. Duncan and G. A. Bertenshaw; Selection Committee. Messrs L. Smith and O.
