TAINUI RATEPAYERS
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION A well-attended and enthusiastic meeting of residents of the Tainui district was held in the Tainui School on Monday last. After several of those present had spoken on the objects of the association and some of the requirements of the locality it was decided to revive the activities, of the defunct Tainui Progress League. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President. Mr W, Jacobson; secretary and treasurer, Mr J, L. Laurie; committee—Mrs W Clarke. Messrs L. Wood, A Wilson. P. Walsh, W. Edgar, H J. Johnstone; auditor, Mr R W. McLennan.
The subscription for (lit ensuing year was fixed at Is and members expressed tlie hope that wholehearted support would be given the association bv the district generally
