MR FRASER'S RETURN

DUE AT AUCKLAND TO-DAY (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 12. After an absence of over four months the Prime Minister, Mr P. Fraser, will return by the Anzac Clipper, which is due to-morrow afternoon. On the arrival of the Clipper, the Prime Minister will be met by the Acting Prime Minister, Mr W. Nash, Wing Commander Bevan, representing the Gov-ernor-General, Sir Cyril Newall. and Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in New Zealand, who will represent the British Government. Mr Fraser and Mr Nash will leave for Wellington by train on Sunday night. REPORT TO PARLIAMENT STATEMENT EXPECTED ON WEDNESDAY (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Sept. 12. Although it is likely that the House of Representatives will revert shortly to sittings o* four days a week, there wil] be no sitting of the House next Tuesday as was at first proposed. The Acting Prime Minister, Mr Nash, stated to-day that the Prime Minister. Mr P, Fraser, would be leaving Auckland pn Sunday night for Wellington, and there would be' a civic reception to him in the Town Hall on Tuesday night. It is likely that Mr Fraser ,vill speak on the war situation in the House on Wednesday night. MESSAGE FROM OPPOSITION (0.C.) WELLINGTON, Cent. 12. Before the House of Representatives rose at 4.50 p.m. to-day for the long week-end recess, the Leader of the Opposition. Mr S. G. Holland, asked the Acting Prime Minister. Mr W. Nash, to convey a message of felicitations to the Prime Minister, Mr P. Fraser, on his arrival at Auckland tor morrow after his visit abroad. In reolv. Mr Nash said he would be very clad to do as Mr Holland had requested, and he felt sure that the Prime Minister would appreciate the kind thought expressed by the Leader of the Opposition. The House adiourned till on Wednesday afternoon.
