WOMEN AS CONDUCTORS
A NUMBER IN MELBOURNE REPLACING SOLDIER HUSBANDS (Rec. 1 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Aug 27. Eight married women began duty to-day as conductors on the electric* trams. They were tutored by male instructors. They will receive the same pay as their husbands, who enlisted for active service.
