ST. CLAIR WOMEN’S CLUB
The St. Clair Women’s Club met on Monday night, when Mrs Douglas Barton, president of the club, corned arid introduced Mr E. J. Anderson. who gave an interesting address on life in Fiji Mr Anderson in his talk referred to the kindness of the Fijian natives to our soldiers, and iri reminiscences of the islands related humorous anecdotes of life from a soldier’s viewpoint, the audience being quick to see the-wit in the situations so vividly described. Miss Ruby White played a piano solo. “ Polonaise ’’ (Chopin) and Mrs D. A. Smith gave a recitation, “The Lady of Provena." “ The Sky Above the Rbom " and “ Mighty Like a Rose were rendered by Mrs A. R. Irvine, arid Miss Elma White gave a . violin solo. “ Valse Triste," followed by “Schon Rosmariri.” Miss Ruby White was the accompanist. Mrs H. Kirk voiced the appreciation of those present for a pleasant and interesting entertainment.
