RAID ON TRIPOLI
Heavy bombing attack __ DQCKS AMONG TARGETS OVER THIRTY ORES STARTED ' . RUGBY, Aug. 25. An R.A.F. Middle East communique states: During Saturday 1 night a large force of R.A.F. bombers dropped nearly 20 tons of bombs on the docks and supply and petrol dumps at Tripoli. Many direct hits were obtained, and the bombs 5 started more than 30 large fires, one I of%hich was of such magnitude that , .it was visible 135 miles away. The attack was carried out » from a very low level, i* During the same night other airv craft bombed enemy encampments \ in the Solium, Bardia and Gambut ’ areas. £ Medium bombers attacked two j enemy schooners and escort vessels, i each of about 800 tons, in the Gulf of Sirte yesterday.
