COMMUNITY SING
This week’s Dunedin community sing will be held in the Empire Theatre, commencing at noon on Friday. It will be a combined day for children and adults. ,An old lady has handed in two half-crowns issued in the reign of King George 111 to be sold at the sing. Offers and donations may be sent to Mr J. F. Himburg, care Begg’s. Proceeds are for the relief of distress of Great Britain. Miss Gwenda Burt will make her first appearance at the sing, and will be heard singing “By the Waters of Minnetonka,” “ Short’nin’ Bread.” and "Because.” Miss Ethel Wallace will play the violin obbligato. Mr H. P. Desmoulins will be the leader, Mr A. Pettitt will be at the piano, and Mr A. Bidgood will- be at the organ. A good programme has been arranged, including the new number. “ Let's Get Together.”
