ST. LEONARDS WATER SUPPLY
NEW SCHEME DISCUSSED For a considerable time the West Harbour Borough Council has had under consideration an improvement in the water supply in the St Leonards district, and a meeting to discuss this project was held al St. Leonards last night ~, A report submitted to the West Harbour Council by Mr J, M. Stewart, outlining the possibilities,of boring for underground water and then .delivering it to a reinforced concrete reservoir, was discussed, and Mr Stewart answered numerous questions from a large number of ratepayers. * The town clerk of the. borough (Mi W. J. Connor) outlined the financial side of the project, and gave details of the costs involved and the proposed increase in rates if- the scheme were carried out. At the conclusion of the meeting u was decided to hold the matter oyer pending inquiries as to the advisability of taking a poll of ratepayers
