THE WEATHER
Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m yesterday by the Meteorological Ofhce in Wellington : "' Moderate southerly winds, later tending to westerly in. the south. Weather becoming fair generally, though cold. Further Outlook.— Improvement continuing, with winds turning to westerly. Weather in Dunedin.—Heavy snow fell I overnight, and the city and suburbs were covered yesterday morning. A strong south-west Wind brought more snow showers, but the sky cleared about midday. In the afternoon there were hail and sleet showers, but temperatures moderated and pressure rose to 00.20 in (1023 millibars) at midnight. The maximum temperature was 49deg. The following are the meteorological observations taken yesterday at the Daily Times Office:— 8 a.m. noon. 6 p.m. m nt.
