THE CRETE CAMPAIGN
HEROISM OF THE GREEKS LONDON, June 15. The Greek Premier, M. Tsouderos, sent a message to the Legation in London stating that the Greek forces in the Battle of Crete numbered 15,Q00, in addition to Cretans of all ages. Even women formed a militia and fought for their homes. The heroism of the Greeks resulted in heavy losses to the enemy. All the parachutists in one of the many encounters were exterminated, but over 300 Cretans were killed and a large number wounded.
