Japan and China It is-announced from Tokio that Mr Wang Chlng'-wei will arrive there on June 17 to discuss co-operation between Japan and China. Royal College of Surgeons The Bernhard Baron trustees have given £40.000 to the Royal College of Surgeons in England, which recently suffered damage from bombs. The purpose of the gift is to endow a Bernhard Baron research professorship at the Royal College of Surgeons to ensure that this important branch of the science of healing can be advanced still further.
Education in Britain Full-time education was "available on April 1 for 96.5 per cent, of the elementary school children in Great Britain, compared with 93.2 per cent, on December 6 of last year, stated the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Education (Mr James Chuter Ede). He added that the number receiving no instruction had been reduced from nearly 100,000 to 40,749.
