ORIGIN OF A STREET NAME
I'O'fHE EDITOR Sir, —With reference to a correspondent's inquiry as to how Emerson street, Concord, got its name, my guess is that the reference is to, Emerson (R. W.). the American literary man. To quote Frank A. Wagnall under " Concord ": " Concord: A village on Concord River in Middlesex County, Massachusetts; scene of a battle in the Revolutionary War, April 19, 1775; residence of Emerson, Hawthorne, Thoreau, the Alcotts, and other eminent literary men . and women."—l am, etc.. .;'.•■. M. Dunedin. June 14.
