UNDER ARMY CONTROL
BRITISH AIR SQUADRONS RUGBY, June 12. The Financial Secretary of the War Office, - Mr R. K. Law, stated in the House of Commons that certain squadrons of the R.A.F. for some time past had been under complete operational control of the army. These squadrons were especially equipped and trained for army needs. As Mr Churchill told the House on Tuesday, it was the intention to place a considerably larger number of aeroplanes under army control. Mr Law added the assurance that the lessons of the war had been subject to the closest study by both the General Staff and the Air Staff. Aircraft of German type and manufacture and in flying order are in the possession of the R.A.F. Certain of these machines have been lent to the Ministry of Aircraft Production and have been flown over Britain bearing British markings.
