DRUIDS’ LODGE

RETIREMENT OF SECRETARY The Otago bodge of Druids met on Monda.V evening in honour of the secretary. Bro. J. W Dove, on his relinquishing office after 25 years’ continuous service. P.D.P. Bro. Shepherd presided, and associated with him were Grand Pres. Bro McElwee, I.P.G.P. Bro. Johnson, and members of the Board of Management. There were also present representatives of all city and suburban lodges and sister constitutions. Bro. Shepherd, asking Bro Dove to accept from the members of his lodge, a chiming clock, mentioned that it carried the sincere and grateful thanks of the members for Bro. Dove’s generous and untiring services since his acceptance of the position of secretary in 1916, Bro Shepherd’s remarks were supported by G.P. Bro McElwee. P.G.P. Bro. Johnson. P.D.P Bro Mcßeath. P.D.P Bro. Ruston. P.D.P Bro. Beazley, P.A. Bro. Watson* and Bros. Macfie and’ Robertson (Foresters) Replying Bro. Dove thanked the members for their handsome gift, and referring to his early connection with the Order, gave an account of its early history. He also paid a tribute to the memory of several members Who had laid the foundations of the Order that to-day gave members so reliable a benefit society.
