COMMUNITY SINGING
MONEY FOR FIGHTERS’ FUND There was a large attendance at the weekly community sing held yesterday in the Strand Theatre, and the substantial sum of £l7 was raised for the “Comforts for Fighters ” Fund. Popular items were given by the Ravensb.ourne Mothers’ League Choir, which sang “ O Peaceful England," ” Blue Danube,” and “Cornin’ Thro’ the Bye.” The following donations were received: Patearoa Wartime Sewing Guild, £2; “Anonymous," Patearoa, £1; “ C.C.,” £1; 10s each from “ Sympathiser,” Carlyle street, North-East Valley, 6 Council street. Miss Finlayson, Mrs E. M. Seddon, 3 Heriot row; Hosiery Department, Mosgiel Woollen Mills (weekly), 12s: "The Palace.” Mosgiel Woollen Mills (weekly), £1 ss; Mrs T. McNally, Blue Spur, also gave a small pup. Messrs H. P. Desmoulins, J. F. Himburg, and A. Pettllt were again the leaders of Ihe sing.
