HOSPITAL BOARD
ESTIMATES FOR THE YEAR CONTRIBUTIONS FROM LOCAL BODIES A special 'meeting of the Otago Hospital Board was held yesterday afternoon for the purpose of formally, approving of the appointment of the sum of £57,211 15s 6d among the local authorities within the district of the board, in proportion to .the capital value of the rateable property'in' each district as determined by the valuergeneral. The apportionments are as follows (shillings and pence omitted):—
Amounts not paid on the expiration of 14 days from the due date are burr dened with an interest charge f of H per cent. 1 V' Question by Dr McMillan Mr A. F. Quelch moved the formal resolution. Dr D. G. McMillan. M.P... said that before the resolution was put he would like to ask for an assurance on one point. This was in connection With a complaint that the chairman of The board and another bad had an interview with a doctor, with the purpose of dissuading him from working under the. medical benefit : scheme. Ir tp interview did take place, Dr McMillan said, he would like an assurance that no promise had been given in regard to an appointment to 'the medical staff of the Hospital. . „ . .
