STRONG WINDS Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at S p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Winds becoming strong southwesterly or southerly. Weather cold and showery, with snow on the upper levels.Further Outlook.—Cold and changeWeather in Dunedin.—The weather in Dunedin yesterday was fine, and temperatures were mild. A high northerly wind was accompanied by exceptionally low barometric pressure, which fell steadily from 29.40 in (996 millibars) to 28.65 in (970 millibars) at midnight, when it began to rise again. The maximum temperature was 57 degrees. Heavy rain fell in the early morning.
