CONTROL OF "FROZEN FUNDS"

m The United States Treasury Department has liberalised its "frozen funds" control, permitting larger remittances to persons living in the countries affected. NonAmericans living in such countries may now receive 100 dollars a month, plus an additional 25 dollars for each member of their families, provided the total does not exceed 200 dollars. Formerly, an Individual was limited to 50 dollars monthly, with 10 dollars allowed for each member of his family up to a 100-dollar limit. Another ruling raises to 500 dollars a month; the amount which may be sent to any American citizen in these countries, with an added 1000 dollars to enable him or his family to return home. The previous limit was 250 dollars for the monthly remittance with a travel allowance of the same amount. Countries whose funds are frozen include Norway, Denmark; Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, France, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Rumania
