GERMAN TROOPS IN SYRIA TURKEY EXPRESSES ANXIETY (Rec. 2 a.m.) LONDON, June 6. The Ankara correspondent of the Associated Press reports that NL Saracoglu, in an interview with Herr von Papen, expressed Turkey's anxiety over the landing of German troops in Syria. M. Saracoglu is reported to have told Herr von Papen that Turkey is ready to take further security measures on the south-eastern frontier. DAYLIGHT RAID ON LONDON FIRST FOR SIX WEEKS (Rec. 2 a.m.) LONDON, June 6. London had its first daylight raid for six weeks. Enemy planes were reported to be heading for the city, and anti-aircraft fire was heard, but the " all clear " was sounded shortly after. There was little night air activity over the country, the only reports of bombs having fallen coming from a town in the north-east of Scotland. One enemy bomber and two fighters were shot down. Two of our machines are missing. BRITISH NAVAL OPERATIONS FOUR ENEMY SHIPS SUNK
(Rec. 2 a.m.) LONDON, June 6. An Admiralty communique announces more successful operations following the Bismarck action. Ships of the Royal Navy made contact with three of the Bismarck's supply ships and an armed trawler, and all four were sunk. .:-• ■
