WHY HITLER CANNOT SUCCEED IN WORLD CONQUEST

: TO THE, EDITOR, • : Sir,—May I r give a summary of a most interesting and arresting address with the above title? It was given by a gifted and well-known Hebrew Christian, and is in a recent number of an English weekly magazine which has an extensive circulation. Mr' 1 Mark Kagan, the . speaker, began by declaring that “ few people realise that Hitlerism to-day is governing 10 hostile countries. The German nation, with its 78,000.000 people, has subjugated 194,000.000 people; and these are the men and women who are longing for the moment when liberation will come; and you may be sure that when that moment comes these people, most of them liberty-loving, will rise up as one man to liberate themselves from this Nazi tyranny. . . .” After quoting from “ Mein Kampf ” and other publications which prove how much the Nazis hate and despise the Jews, Mr Kagan says emphatically that they will never destroy the Jew. “The Jews will long outlive Hitler. Hitler is not the-first Haman that the Jews have had to face.” Further on, Mr Kagan affirms that “if Hitlerism wins, then God is going to lose, and we know that God cannot lose, for He is always on the winning side. Shortly before the war.” Mr Kagan says, “ I was in Paris, and staying in the same hotel were a Nazi doctor and an English gentleman. One' day this English gentleman said to the doctor: ‘ Remember. God is bound to win.’ And this Nazi doctor had the audacity to say: ‘lt all depends on whose side God is. If God is on our side then He is going to win: and if He is not on our side, then He is going to lose.”’ How terrible is the Nazi conception of God! We know, however, that God cannot lose, and all those who are on His side are on the winning side. Mr Kagan went on to ask his audience these questions: “ What is Christ to you? Have you acclaimed Him your Saviour and your Lord? .Have ever your lips spoken to Him in the language of Thomas in the upper room, ‘My Lord and my God’? If you have thus identified yourself with Him, then you are on the winning side. . .’’ Mr Kagan further states that Hitlerism must die because the Nazis declare that “ Christianity is to be torn up root and branch. The Church in Germany must be annihilated.” We, know that the true Church of God, composed of all genuine Christians, cannot be destroyed. Christ, Who is the builder of His Church, says that ‘‘the gates - of hell shall not prevail against it.” In the latter part of his address Mr Kagan exclaims: “I have no doubt about it that Great Britain i

is going to win this war, and that Hitler is going to lose.” He then continues: “But, listen, have we prayed sufficiently that God may make us fit for victory? Let us pray as never before for our country, for our King, and for all in authority. We thank God for the number of God-fearing men in both Houses of Parliament, and we praise God for our God-fearing King. . . God is still the God for miracles, and it will be by a miracle that He will, deliver us from the scourge of Hitlerism. .. .” Mr Kagan then asks this question: "What does the Hitler youth believe in to-day? ” He gets his answer from “ Cross Into Swastika ”: “ Hitler is a new, a greater, a more powerful Jesus Christ, our God is Adolf Hitler.” He then gives this reply to the pride of man: “Moab shall be destroyed from being a people because he hath magnified himself against Jehovah." And again, “A sword is upon liars; and they shall dote; a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.”—l am, etc., Maran-atha.
