monthly meeting The monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board was held yesterday and was attended by Messrs W. E. Shaw (chairman), C. J. Inder, G. W. Stuart. D. J. Ross and J. S. Adams. Exchange of Tenure Sections 12, 13 and 25, block XI, Tautuku S.D. (169 a 2r 14p), C. b. Shanks: Exchange of tenure, O.R.P, licence to lease in perpetuity—Exchange approved. Disposal of Timber W. McCombe applied to purchase 25 trees situated on the island in the Clutha River directly below the Clydevale bridge.—The application was granted.

Sale of Land

The commissioner submitted lor further consideration the question of selling to the Bruce County Council 2a Ir 17p of Education reserve endowment, being part section 5, block V, Tuakitoto S.D., and it was decided to grant a licence to the Bruce County Council.

Applications for Land

The application of the Wanaka District Doctors’ Club (Inc.) to purchase sections 77 and 78, block IX, Town of Wanaka (2 roods), was further considered, and it was resolved to amend the previous resolutions by substituting “The Wanaka District Doctors’ Club (Inc.)” for “The Lake County Council.”

The application by the Vincent County Council to acquire section 2,

block XLIX, Town of Clyde, containing 2 roods 19 perches, as a site for a county employee's dwelling, was further considered, and it was decider) to sell the section to the Vincent Council.

Victor James Quelch applied for permission to occupy an area of approximately 20 perches, being the northeastern portion of section 7, Town of Brighton View Extension No. 2 (Ir 4p), at present held under a miscellaneous licence. —The application was declined.

G. C. Scott, of Waitahuna. applied for a year-to-year grazing licence over sections 5,6, 17, 18, 19. 20, 21, 22, 23, part section 11, and section 12. block XIV, Town of Havelock (area 3a Ir 18.8p).—A year-to-year licence was granted, subject to a special condition safeguarding the Public Works Department from any liability for damages which may arise from the operation of the gravel pit.

E. J. Weatherall applied for permission to occupy section 169, block XIX. Tuapeka East S.D. (11a Ir 13p), at present held under miscellaneous licence in the name of David McNeilly —Permission to occupy was granted James Hayward Love applied for a year-to-year licence over the area lying between the Manuherikia River and sections 41. 42 and 43. block VI. Tiger

Hill S.D.—A year-to-year licence was granted. E. J. Weatherall applied for permission to occupy the northern Portion of section 173, block XIX, Tuapeka East S.D. (4a 3r Ip), at present held under miscellaneous licence in the name of David McNeilly.—Permission to occupy was granted. Supplies of Firewood The commissioner submitted for further consideration an application to take firewood from section 6, block XXXIV, Town of Havelock, by T. E. Steel.—The right to occupy was granted for one year from July 10. 1941. Reduction in Area The question of reducing the area of the land held by W. J. Dundass under miscellaneous licence, which at present covers sections 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, and part 5, block XXI, Blackstone S.D., and part section 15, block 111, Poolburn S.D. (total area, 127 a Ir) was considered. —It was decided to reduce the area by the exclusion of 104 acres.

Land Open for Selection

The commissioner submitted the applications received for section 29 block I. Town of St. Bathans, containing Ir 13.3 p, on renewable lease at a capital value of £lO, with hajfyearb rental of 5s and weighted with £125 (to be paid in cash) for improvements. —The application of Beryl Scherp was granted.
