A VERSATILE CANDIDATE
TO THE EDITOR Sir,—l understand that our versatile Labour candidate for the Mayoralty has edded yet another to his long list of avocations, and that at a recent week-end he arrived out on the Taieri to value some property on behalf of the Dunedin Savings Bank. Even if he had any qualifications for valuing property, does he. as a good unionist, approve of horning in on the income of the auctioneer, or does the slogan " One man—twenty-onp jobs " inspire him?—l am. etc.- Union Wages. [The trustees of the Savings Bank do not employ a valuer. They themselves value the nroperties on which the bank makes advances and. we are informpd receive fees for so doing.— Ed.. 0.D.T.l
