ILLEGAL TANGI
MENINGITIS PRECAUTIONS (P.A.) WHANGAREI, May 13. A well-known Maori, Cr Brown, of Waipouri. was fined £lO in the Police Court at Rawene to-day for permitting a tangi to be held when such functions have been prohibited by the medical officer of health.
The North Island Sheep Dog Trials, which were to have been held in Northland, have been cancelled. The meningitis outbreak is reported to be the cause of the cancellation.
