ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
CHILD DROWNED IN CREEK (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. May 13. Leon John Wright, aged eight years, was found drowned in a creek on the Homebush Estate, Coalgate. to-day. He had been missing since 1.30 p.m. yesterday. The boy's father, Mr Edward Denham Wright, who is employed by Mr James Deans. Went into the garden yesterday and the boy followed him on a tricycle. Later the boy disappeared, and < the father assumed that he had gone home. On returning at 6 p.m. he found that the boy was missing. A search was made till 2 a.m.. but the body was not found till this afternoon. FATALITY ON FARM (P.A.) TIMARU. May 13. Frank O'Connoll. aged 51, a farmer, residing at Sutherlands. was dragged by a horse on the Glendonnel run, Albury. to-day: He was dead when found. He was a married man with four of a family. MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED (P.A.) AUCKLAND. May 13. When his motor cycle ran into * herd of cattle on the Great South road at Westfield (Auckland) during fog early this morning. Roy Mervyn Mills, aged 24. single, of Grey Lynn, was killed Mills was employed as a cleaner at the Westfield Freezing Works. He died almost immediately after the accident. INJURY TO EYE Suffering from an eye injury caused by an air-gun pellet. Harry Davies. a youth residing at 96 Oxford street, was admitted to the Hospital at 7.15 last evening. FALL STEPS Christina Clayton, an elderly woman, who resides at 53 Cole street, Caversham, fractured a leg when she fell down some steps in Cole street. She was admitted to the Hospital at 3.45 yesterday afternoon. FALL AT HOME As a, result of a fall at her home at 39 Grey street. Port Chalmers, Sarah Dougherty, an elderly woman, suffered head injuries, and was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 2.5 p.m* yesterday. HAND CAUGHT IN PRESS Rae Garland, a young girl, was admitted to the Hospital at noon yesterday, suffering from a crushed hand. She received the injury when she caught her hand in a press at the premises of Messrs Coulls, Somerville, and Wilki*, Ltd, She resides at 14 Exmouth street, Abbotsford.
