COLD AND SHOWERY Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— • Moderate to strong south-west wind. Weather cold and showery, but improving inland. Seas rough. Further Outlook. Southwesterly winds gradually decreasing. Weather changeable, but mainly fair, with cold nights. Dominion Forecast. —Showers developing in the greater part of the South Island, more especially in the west and south. Otherwise, "fair, except for morning fog or possible drizzle in North Auckland. Temperatures cooler. Weather in Dunedin.—The barometer fell steadily vesterday, and at midnight registered 29.90 inches (1012 millibars). The day was fine, with no wind, and temperatures were mild. The maximum was 68 degrees. The following are the meteorological observations taken yesterday at the Daily Times Office:—
