The following letter from an officer in Egypt is a typical example:— . % "I am writing to you- to try to express my appreciation of; the" really, wonderful Christmas present that I received from your society. It really was magnificent Every man -has been' issued with a parcel. -The parcels came from all parts-of New Zealand. They were all. very good, but those. from your society were far and away r the best. You could hear; the men on all sides- asking', : ( Did> yoU get one from Otago?" this is ho exaggeration. Please convey to your committee my very sincere thanks, and when I say that I speak for every man here who received one of your parcels:" - i Members expressed appreciation of the sentiments expressed in the'letters received from the men overseas; '
