THE JAPANESE DIET
SEVENTY-SIXTH SESSION OPENED BY EMPEROR TOKIO, Dec. 26. The Emperor formally opened the seventy-sixth session of the Diet. " We are pleased to see that the intercourse between Japan and the treaty Powers has become closer," he said. The prevailing and unprecedented disturbances throughout the world, however, appear to be endless, and we therefore wish the entire Japanese .nation to exert greater efforts in assisting the Government in the conduct'of State affairs." The Emperor instructed the Parliamentarians to approve of the Cabinet budget.
