(Received Dec. 26, at 11 p.m.) A contrast in the distribution of Christmas "boxes" to the Greek people on the island of Corfu by British and Italian bombers was provided on Christmas morning. Early on Christmas Day, British bombers flew over Corfu and dropped 500 leather jerkins to clothe the children of the island 1 as a present from the British units in Greece. -The islanders were notified by telegraph and were waiting to welcome the planes. .As the British bombers flew as low as 100 feet from the ground, the people waved and cheered. . The Italians also flew over the island on Christmas Day. In a particularly vicious bombing raid, they killed 15 people and injured 30 others. This was the • twenty-third raid on Corfu, a town which has no fortifications and no military objectives of any kind.
