UNIVERSITY COUNCIL
MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the council of the Otago University was held yesterday afternoon, and was attended by the chancellor (Mr W. J. Morrell) and Messrs L. D. Ritchie, A. Steel, H. P. Kidson, S. Rice, W. R. Brugh, J. Robertson, Dr James Fitzgerald, Dr R. J. T. Bell. Dr C. E. Hercus and Miss M. W. May. W.E.A. Bursary The ' secretary of the W.E.A. submitted a recommendation that the W.EA. bursary be awarded to W. R. Lucas. The recommendation was adopted. Fowler Scholarship The recommendation of the dean of the Medical Faculty that G. J. Taine be awarded the Fowler Scholarship was adopted. Leask Medal The dean of the Dental Faculty recommended that the Leask Bronze Medal, for excellence in prosthetic dentistry, be awarded to Mr G. Walker.— The recommendatoin was adopted Committee Reports The reports of the Finance, Medical, Home Science and Works Committees were adopted without discussion, and also the report from the Committee of Management of the Museum.
