AMERICAN PRESIDENCY THE POPULAR VOTE (By Wireless) LONDON, Nov. 1. (Received Nov. 8, at 2 a.m.) The latest popular vote figures have increased Mr Roosevelt's majority over Mr Willkie to well over 4,000,000. In the House of Representatives the latest state of the parties shows that the Democrats have gained 22 seats. In the Senate, the Republicans have gained four seats, but the Democrats will hold at least 60 out of the totai of 96. Leaders of both parties have made an appeal for complete national unity. BRITISH RAIDS PLANES OVER BERLIN (By Wireless) LONDON, Nov. 7. (Received Nov. 8, at 1 a.m..) Planes of the Bomber Command again visited Berlin last night, when one of their principal objectives was the aircraft works in the suburb of Spandau. Hamburg, Dusseldorf and Duisberg were also visited, and the gun emplacements at Calais were attacked. During daylight raids, oil refineries 20 miles inside the German border from Holland were bombed, as well as the docks at Cuxhaven and a convoy off the Dutch coast.
