SOME GOOD CATCHES LARGE TROUT REPORTED y- ■ -' .- Several anglers' reports 'recently to hand indicate that fair "to good sport is being found in various.parts of the district. . The largest fish reported this season weighed 121 b when cleaned, and fell to the rod of a visitor to the Upper Taieri. Fishing near Hall's ford, he secured seven fish of a total weight of 481 b including the large cne. which is described as being in perfect condition A 71b trout was taken at the same place a few days later by a different angler. This is the first report of fishing on the Upper Taieri received this season, and it indicates that the river is affording better sport than for gome years past, Butcher's Gully dam is stilJ dis coloured after the heavy rain of a fortnight ago, but small catches of trout in fair condition are being taken from .time to time. .-•:.•■',. V • The Waipori River and Lake are yielding a few good fish, several catches of three, four and eight trout being reported. • Some'good fi£h are being caught qn the Waitahuna, though catches are generally limited. The trout caught range up to 2Jlb.
