ALBANIAN FRONT

GREEK SUCCESSES ATTACK ON NORTHERN END THE ITALIANS CONFUSED (By Wireless) LONDON, Nov. 6. (Received Nov. 6, at 11 p.m.) Further Greek successes in Albania are reported in a communique from Athens describing yesterday’s operations. Greek forces made a successful attack on the northern end of the front and after fierce fighting occupied a new series of positions in Albanian territory. Prisoners were taken and a quantity of material was captured. The attack by, the Greeks evidently confused the Italians because as' they withdrew a section of the retreating force was attacked by Italian tanks. The new heights occupied are probably near the position in the mountains from which the Greek artillery is shelling the Italian base of Koritza. The Greek Air Force was co-operating in yesterday’s operations. Aerodromes at Koritza and Argyrokastron were attacked and a considerable number of planes on the ground as well as hangars and barracks were destroyed. ; All the Greek planes returned undamaged. It is claimed by the Greek military authorities that since October 28, when the Italian attack began, no military objectives have been hit from the air, but, on the otherhand, 291 civilians have been killed and 690 wounded.
